Samuel Derr Gaver

Samuel Derr Gaver was the fourth (or fifth) child of Margaret Alice Branson and the last of the three children she had with Edgar Leroy Gaver. Due to his brief lifespan, he was best remembered simply as Little Sammy Gaver. His full name was derived from his paternal grandfather. It should be noted that so far no direct documentation has turned up to confirm that the middle initial “D” in Sammy’s name stood for Derr, but there is no reason to think it was anything else.

Little Sammy was born 22 May 1912. He lived less than two months, passing away 5 July 1912. Both his birth and his death occurred in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA.
